Sampdoria coach Alberto Cavasin expects the Blucerchiati to keep the momentum from their performance against Bari last weekend as Brescia visit the Marassi on Sunday, in a relegation six-pointer.
Cavasin’s men are currently 17th in Serie, level on 35 points with third-from-bottom Lecce and five ahead of Brescia.
“We needed to get a result against Bari and with a good performance we brought home three points,” Cavasin told reporters.
“We showed great balance at both ends of the pitch.
“We must gain strength from that performance and try to get a positive result against Brescia.”
Brescia coach Giuseppe Iachini is also very well aware of the importance of Sunday’s game.
“There is only one possible result for us and that is to win at Sampdoria,” Iachini commented.
“We are in a difficult situation and time is running out for us to avoid the drop.
“A win on Sunday would get us back in the race to defend our Serie A status.”
