Juventus’ Summer Shopping List

Turin giants, Juventus as expected will be having a busy summer following another dismal season. Both fans and football lovers around the world will be watching the moves of Juventus in the transfer market to see if the Old Lady’s transactions match their worldwide football reputation.

A few players have arrived while others have continued to be linked with the club over the past few days and weeks.  This list begins with Hoffenheim’s Andreas Beck, a highly rated and coveted 24-year-old German international.

He is a right-back who was part of the German U-21 side that beat England in the European U-21 finals in 2009. The president of his current club seems to have conceded defeat in retaining his services by declaring that it will be hard to keep hold of the young defender. Juventus is ready to make a move for him and he has continued to be linked with the club within the media.

An unlikely footballer in the form of Carlos Tevez has also been linked with Juventus, and was even said to have been offered a huge wage which he turned down. His quality is never in doubt but the Argentina and Manchester City forward is one of the least loyal players ever to play the game. Even if he has been linked with Juventus, it is unlikely we will see Tevez at the club as the Bianconeri will not be playing in Champions League. A player of Tevez’s calibre will not want to miss out on Europe’s elite competition.

His Argentine counterpart, Sergio Kun Aguero of Atletico Madrid has also been associated with Juventus and it seems his club is really to sell if the right offer comes.

Aguero can be a big torn in the flesh for opponents when on form but he also has generated interest from Bayern Munich as well, which means Juventus has to compete with the German club if they want the player to turn out for them next season. The advantage Bayern has over Juventus is that Aguero may opt for them because of Champions League football. Aguero’s buy-out clause is in the region of €45 million.

Another player to have been linked with Juventus in recent weeks is Manchester United’s Luis Nani. The Portuguese winger is capable of producing exceptional moments but suffers from inconsistency as well. He has however improved during the last season and may be a good buy for Juventus. However, Manchester United is likely to sell if they get the right offer.

Finally, Udinese’s hard working midfielder Gokhan Inler, whose stock has risen in the Italian league was almost on his way to Napoli before Juventus joined the race and he has continually been linked with the Italian giants. He is of Turkish descent but plays international football for Switzerland, his country of birth.
