Roma look set to sign Barcelona striker Bojan after sporting director Walter Sabatini confirmed that the Giallorossi have agreed terms with the player and his club.

“We reached an agreement with the player himself and also with his club,” Sabatini told Sky Italia.

“The negotiations are at an advanced stage and we hope that we will now be able to complete everything.”

However, upon hearing this news the Catalan giants issued their own statement regarding the transfer of the young Spaniard.

“There is a Roma offer for Bojan, but we are still studying and evaluating it,” spokesman Toni Freixa told the clubs official website.

“It’s unlikely Roma can say talks are finished when they are still being considered.

“Clearly when there is an offer and the club consider it, that’s because there is a chance the move could be completed.”

“We will not reveal the details of any negotiations, as we must safeguard the interests of Barcelona.”

The deal, expected to be concluded after the European U21 Championships, is thought to be around €10 million with a €12 million buy-back clause inserted.
