Juventus have officially presented the new home and away strips for the upcoming 2011/2012 season.

These will be part of a collection that also includes training and casual wear and were unveiled at the new stadium inside the Bianconeri’s dressing room.

Andrea Rossi, Nike Italy’s General Manager, were both at the event

“This year we chose to present the new shirts, manufactured by Nike for the ninth consecutive season, in a special location, our new stadium,” Andrea Agnelli told the press.

“We’re delighted that Nike, a company with which we’ve had a lasting partnership, solid and of reciprocal satisfaction, have welcomed our proposal with enthusiasm.

“With the same enthusiasm we’re here today to begin season 2011/2012 together, done from the ‘heart’ of the new stadium, the dressing rooms, a place that we’ve opened to the press, but will soon be occupied by Antonio Conte and his team to have quiet and focused moments which come before competitive action.”

The kits were created by sports wear giants Nike who have also produced a whole collection for the club.

“We wanted to create an authentic Juventus Football Club collection for the first time: the shirts to be worn for the game will have a futuristic look with high performance materials of a unique style,” Andrea Rossi, Nike Italy’s General Manager said.

“The Train range, developed using the best technology, allows training to be carried out at optimum level regardless of the weather conditions.

“The collection is made complete by an Express casualwear line, dedicated to those who wish to dress with style and elegance whilst showing their passion for Juventus.”

A statement regarding each shirt on Juventus’ official site also read:

“Home Shirt

“Juventus will wear a shirt with a futuristic look which looks to signal the start of a new era. It features a reinterpreted version of the iconic black and white stripes to guarantee a 3D effect. ‘Juventus’ is written on the back of the shirt, whilst ‘Forza Juve’ is written on the back of the badge. The shorts are white, with a hint of black at the tip, along with white socks and a ‘J’ written on the calf.

“Away Shirt

“The Bianconeri’s away shirt is bright pink, dominated by a star, signalling a return to tradition. Following the foundation of the club in 1897, Juventus wore pink coloured shirts with black shorts for six years before switching to the traditional black and white stripes. The body, the sleeves and the neck are pink with a large black star weaving from the neck down to the waist. The shorts are black, while the socks are completely black except for a small ‘J’ on the calf.

“The fabric is comprised of recyclable materials, Nike Dri-FIT and an aerodynamic design.

“The new shirts are made entirely with Nike’s innovate recycled polyester: each one is produced directly from the recycling of fourteen plastic water bottles. The strips also actively contribute to the regulation of athlete’s body temperature on the pitch thanks to the Nike Dri-FIT fabric. The shirts contain a new aerodynamic fit, now more slender, which offers 17% more elasticity than the previous shirt.
