Former Roma Coach Zdenek Zeman has called for Inter’s 2006 Scudetto to be taken away.

The Coach was asked his opinions regarding the latest information regarding the  Calciopoli scandal, as a dossier came out last week seemingly condemning Inter of “sporting fraud”

“I think it should be stripped” said the Pescara tactician. “The facts say it’s only right to revoke that Scudetto.

I don’t know about the new wiretaps, but I think that step should be taken, because in my view several clubs have the right to claim that title.”

Zeman also commented on the condemnation of former Inter President Giacinto Facchetti, who has been accused of influencing referees, leading to an angry outcry from Inter, current President Massimo Moratti categorically denying Facchetti’s involvement in the incidents.

“Facchetti was a great figure in Italian football, but the wiretaps suggest that something was happening.

I am not the one to judge, but it would be right for football to clarify the situation once and for all.

Clearly if what came out had done so five years ago, then that title would not have been assigned to Inter.

That Scudetto is clearly a wound. We cannot think to heal it by opening it up again. That would only serve to make it bleed more copiously than ever before.”
