Inter Milan striker Diego Milito has urged international team-mate Carlos Tevez to join him in Italy this season.

Tevez has of course confirmed his desire to leave Manchester City this summer, citing family reasons as his main motive.

Despite this however, the Argentine has been unable to strike a deal with a club as of yet, although Milito does remain hopeful that the City skipper will eventually join him in Serie A.

“I know Tevez well, we’ve played alongside each other on numerous occasions with Argentina, and he’s a champion,” Milito told Sky Sport Italia.

Samuel Eto’o is a player who has been linked with a move away from the Nerazzurri this summer, and Milito believes that Tevez would be the perfect ‘champion’ to replace him.

He continued: “Let’s wait and see what happens. Eto’o would be a massive loss, but I remain optimistic because we have a strong squad.

“If he goes then hopefully another great champion will arrive.”
