Serie A returned with a bang at the weekend with some fantastic action. This week we got goals and more goals which included seven in the match between Lecce and AC Milan. Udinese finished on top of the pile after a brilliant 3-0 over Novara, so without further delay here are the five top goals of the week.

5. Alessandro Matri, Juventus – Genoa

This was Alessandro Matri’s second goal of the game. Mirko Vucinic played in a ball from the right which was dummied by Andrea Pirlo and the ball fell to Matri who kept his nerve to score.

3. Kevin-Prince Boateng, Lecce – AC Milan

The first of his hat-trick and what a finish it was, the ball was played in from the right and it found his way to the back post where Boateng unleashed with a brilliant left footed effort into the top corner. The goalkeeper was rooted to the spot.

2. Kevin-Prince Boateng, Lecce – AC Milan

His first goal was brilliant but his second effort was even better. He has scored three absolute belters this week in two games for Milan. Antonio Cassano fed the ball back to Boateng who hit it first time with his right foot into the top corner.

1. Erik Lamela, Roma – Palermo

His debut for the club and his debut goal for Roma and what a goal it was, just eight minutes into his debut . Daniele De Rossi won the ball in midfield and fed in the on running Lamela who cut in from the right hand side and curled in a brilliant left footed effort.

A cracking goal by the former River Plate midfielder to end a brilliant week in Serie A where it showed that last week action was a total fluke with the five 0-0 draws.
