The agent of Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy has dismissed the rumour circulating that his client would be leaving the club should Carlos Tevez arrive from Manchester City during the winter transfer window.

Reports are emerging out of England that suggest the Rossoneri are in discussions to bring the Argentine international to the San Siro, but El Shaarawy’s representative, Roberto Lo Florio believes his client’s place at the club is assured.

“Milan need to do something in attack due to [Antonio] Cassano absence, and it seems natural to me that the club is linked to big players,” Lo Florio told Milannews.it. “I am convinced that Stephan will have his space in the side, and will take his chances.

“The player needs to think about putting his skills on show. [Director Adriano] Galliani and Milan expect a lot of this player, but want to also give him time to grow.

“With the arrival of Tevez, there will be no problem as El Shaarawy can play in different roles, even as a winger. Milan has let him grow physically, and is very happy being at Milan.”

Tevez has failed to make an appearance for the English club since September’s Champions League clash against Bayern Munich, when the hitman failed to come off the substitutes’ bench.

Milan take on Chievo this weekend.
