With Antonio Cassano being out for a few months following his heart surgery, Milan are on the lookout for a new striker to sign in January.

Two players being linked with the club a lot are Chelsea star Didier Drogba and Catania’s Maxi Lopez. Agent Claudio Pasqualin gave his opinion on who is most likely to join the Rossoneri’s attack.

“Maxi Lopez is one the main candidates,” he said to Radio Sportiva, “but he’s expensive. Although anything is possible with the loan deal with an option to buy. Milan first have to decide if they want a number 10 or a number 11, in the second case [Adrian] Mutu would no longer be an option.

“It’s quite a dilemma, but I believe it would be easier to get to Drogba, whose contract with Chelsea is expiring, so he would cost less than [Marco] Borriello.”

Pasqualin also talked about the future of Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero and Juve youth product Sebastian Giovinco. The Bianconeri’s president Andrea Agnelli recently announced that Del Piero would leave Juventus at the end of the season.

“I can’t see Del Piero playing in a different shirt, not in Italy at least,” he continued. “He’s intrigued by the Premier League, but I’d say the USA or Japan are more likely.

“Giovinco? I think he will end the season at Parma, of course the interest of clubs like Juventus and Chelsea are flattering, but we will evaluate them in turn.”
