Roma could be prepared to sell defenders Cicinho and Juan in the January transfer market despite a six-moth injury lay-off for Nicolas Burdisso, according to Il Corrielle Dello Sport.

Cicinho has only appeared in the ill-fated Europa League qualifying games against Slovan Bratislava and a brief substitute appearance against Sienain the league so far this season for the giallorossi and is deemed surplus to requirements in the new-look Roma.

Juan has also been restricted to limited appearances after being a regular starter in the majority of games last season.  Injuries have played their part this year for the Brazilian and at the age of 32, Enrique possibly believes that they have seen the best of him now.

New signings Simon Kjaer, Gabriel Heinze and the 30 year-old Burdisso have pushed out the old guard as the new coach looks to stamp his mark on the club.

Juventus could possibly a destination for Juan as they have shown interest previously and are in need of reinforcements in their back-line.

Burdisso suffered a knee injury whilst on duty for the Argentine national team and has just had surgery and he appears confident about his chances of returning to action as good as new.

Tuttomercato, the italian football website, report Burdisso as saying “Yesterday [Sunday], I saw the match [2-1 victory against Lecce] and I had fun, I hope I will be able to do the same in the next weeks”.

“My recovery? This is the first day for me, but I certainly do not lack the desire to be back on the pitch.”
