Josip IlicicPalermo midfielder Josip Ilicic says he owes a lot to now-Fiorentina coach Delio Rossi.

Rossi was the one who helped discover the Slovenian international and bring him to Italy last season, launching his Serie A career.

And Ilicic is eternally grateful for the chance.

“On Sunday, Delio Rossi comes to town,” the playmaker told Mediagol.it. “He was the coach who helped me reach the heights I have attained.

“I cannot thank him enough. I owe him a lot.

“I would not have had such a season like I did last year had it not been for him,” concluded Ilicic.

The two sides meet this weekend on Sunday.
