Rumours abound in Serie A that AC Milan will swoop in the winter to sign for striker Marco Borriello from Roma.

Borriello was a target for many clubs in the summer , but for one reason or another, has remained in the capital.

AC Milan need to bring in another striker due to the loss of Antonio Cassano, who is currently recovering from having heart surgery and can expect to be out for the majority, if not all, of the rest of the season.

To try and tempt Borriello, who has not yet scored this season for Roma,  away from the Olimpico, the Rossoneri are making defender Daniele Bonera available as part of a deal.

This might tempt the Giallorossi as star defender Nicolas Burdisso is currently injured and expected to miss the rest of the season due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury picked up inArgentina’s World Cup qualifier withColombia.

Watch this space to see if Borriello makes a quick return to Milan.
