Sampdoria have revealed that they are willing to sell captain Angelo Palombo during the January transfer window for the right price.

The midfielder has been recently dropped from the starting line-up for the Genoa-based club, who are plying their trade in Serie B this campaign after suffering relegation from the Italian top-flight at the end of last season.

Palombo, 30, remained with the Blucerchiati over the summer despite reports of Serie A clubs’ interest in him but Samp have now stated that they are willing to discuss offers for the Italy international.

“His exclusions of late have probably re-ignited the attention of Fiorentina and Napoli,” sporting director Pasquale Sensibile told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“It would cost us a lot to sell Angelo, but we could sit down and discuss a move if an important bid was received.

“During the summer we instantly ended any talk about a Palombo sale, but a few months have passed now and things have changed.”
