It certainly hasn’t been a memorable year for Inter striker Diego Milito. After his goals helped the team win five trophies in 2010, including a memorable brace in the Champions League final, in 2011 he has been struggling with his physical form and scored just eight goals in all competitions.

Now the Argentinean has been ‘rewarded’ for his efforts with the so-called ‘Bidone d’Oro’ award (translates to ‘Golden Bin’) given each year to the worst player in Serie A. The prize is awarded by Radio 2 show Catersport, which asks its listeners to vote for the most disappointing player of the year.

The previous ‘winner’ was Adriano, who failed to score a single goal in his brief stint at Roma. The Brazilian striker had already won the Bidone d’Oro twice with Inter, in 2006 and 2007.

Juventus striker Amauri, who has not played a match for the club since returning from his loan stint at Parma, was runner-up for the second consecutive year. Meanwhile, Juve midfielder Milos Krasic finished third in the poll.
