Although Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has said that the arrival of Maxi Lopez from Catania will mean Carlos Tevez will not be joining the club before next summer, today’s Italian sports papers claim Silvio Berlusconi’s club are ready to launch a new bid for the Manchester City star.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the key is an €8m. penalty Milan would have to pay the Citizens if they decide not to make the player’s move permanent next summer. It’s widely known that the Rossoneri offered City a loan deal for the player with the option to buy.

However, president Berlusconi is not convinced by this deal, but Galliani will reportedly meet with him today about this matter. Manchester City are allegedly willing to give away Tevez for €24m. on loan with the option to buy, but only if they have the guarantee of that €8m. penalty.

This new push for Tevez is allegedly tied to Filippo Inzaghi’s desire to leave the club in January. The legendary but ageing striker has never been much by coach Massimiliano Allegri, who did not even use him in the recent Coppa Italia match against Lazio after letting him warm up.
