Both Lecce and Milan have released statements confirming the transaction that will see full-back Djamel Mesbah join Milan.

The Algerian, who signed for Lecce in 2009 from Swiss outfit Luzern, is seen as the replacement for seemingly outbound Milan defender Taye Taiwo, who has recently admitted he is looking at other options abroad after failing to make an impression since his move from Olympique Marseille in the summer.

An official statement from Lecce read: “Lecce announces it has sold Algerian midfielder Djamel Mesbah to AC Milan on a permanent transfer”.

“In the same transaction, the Salentini club has brought to an end the loan move of midfielder Rodney Strasser, who returns to Milan, and acquired half of the sporting rights of striker David Speziale, who will wear the Lecce colours from next season”.

Milan have also revealed details of the deal on their website noting that Mesbah has signed a deal until June 30, 2016 and will wear the shirt number 15.

But is the the answer to Milan’s left-back problems?
