Thiago Motta’s Inter future hanging in the balance

The situation of Inter midfielder Thiago Motta seems ever more uncertain. Recently the Brazilian said he is open to a transfer to Paris Saint Germain, who are known to be after him, but president Massimo Moratti has said he does not want to see him leave.

“Is Thiago Motta going to PSG? For now we have to understand what Inter’s intentions are with the player,” the player’s agent Alessandro Canovi said to Radio Calciomercato.

“We have to understand the situation between Thiago and Inter, meaning we have to see if he is still part of the club’s project. We never talked about a renewal with Inter. The lad isn’t calm, but it’s not his fault. Inter should tell me what to do.”

On a possible transfer to Manchester City, he said: “I know [coach Roberto] Mancini likes him, but he has not been involved in the negotiations for [Carlos] Tevez. Being one of the best midfielders in the world, it’s normal that a lot of coaches like him. But it’s not true he has been offered a €4.5 million contract.”

In any case, Motta will not be available for this weekend’s match against Lecce, after suffering an injury to his calf during Napoli-Inter in the Coppa Italia in midweek, as reported on Inter.it.
