Genoa striker Ze Eduardo is close to completing a move to Championship side West Ham United, manager Sam Allardyce has confirmed.

The Brazilian will move to the Hammers initially on a loan deal, though there is scope to make the move permanent in the summer.

‘He has arrived and will go through the normal procedures to make sure he is 100 per cent right before joining us,’ said Allardyce told reporters.

The player, who holds an Italian passport, joined Genoa 12 months ago from Santos for £4million but has been unable to cement a place in the Rossoblu’s side following his return from a loan spell with Santos.

The 24-year-old has played in just four matches for Genoa and has been unable to find the net.
