Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini held a press conference yesterday to announce that he is close to securing an investment from an Arab Consortium.

The investment is thought to be worth up to 200 million euros for the Sicilian club and will be invested on players and a new stadium.

The consortium called AMA group had a spokesman at the press conference and had this to say, “The objective is to bring business worth millions over the next five years.

“The second is to find investors for Palermo so within three years we can bring substantial help to win the Scudetto.”

Zamparini also added “On March 15 we should be ready to lay out a three to five year plan so we can begin talks with potential investors.”

If it goes to plan it looks like Palermo could be the second team on the Peninsula to own their own stadium outright, after Juventus.
