The quarter-finals of the Viareggio Cup saw a few upsets as Fiorentina, Roma, Juventus and Parma all reached the semi-finals.

Coach Alberto De Rossi was the star of the show as he helped his Roma side teach Rappresentativa di Serie D a real lesson in tactics as the Giallorossi were reduced to ten men for the majority of the game when Amato Ciciretti in the first half.

During the opening exchanges the Giallorossi were a playing perfect football, covering all areas of the pitch well and playing some extremely entertaining stuff before Federico Barba and Giammario Piscitella grabbed the goals early in the second-half.

Onto Fiorentina who overcame a very tough Lazio side 3-1 in extra-time, after Kenneth Zohore equalised for the Viola right at the death of the match. Gustavo Campanharo scored 10 minutes into the additional period then Diomandè Gondo sealed an amazing win six minutes later.

Parma steamrollered Torino from the very start of their match as the Granata collapsed tactically and were a shambles throughout. Matteo Di Gennaro, Beniot Bationo and Fábio Nunes grabbing the goals as the Gialloblu were in complete control.

Finally, Juventus had to come from a goal down to defeat Guarani. The Paraguayan side took an early lead when Benitez struck on the 13th minute.

Aggressive from the offset, Guarani looked to take control of the game but after going ahead they fell away a little. Juventus then grew as the match wore on and got their just rewards just before the half hour when Prince-Désir Gouano brought the game level.

De Silvestro then put the Bianconeri in the lead, finishing off an excellent move involving Padovan, Chibsah and Spinazzola. But it was substitute Oasim Bouy who stole the show.

The Paraguayans began to have more of the ball and were pinning Juventus back, but this was merely a cover as the Bianconeri love to play on the counter, and despite Guarani having two goals disallowed, Bouy took no notice and smashed in a powerful 30 yard shot which sealed the game.
