This week of Serie A had all the elements of a great drama. The return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the struggles of Juventus and Inter, and the passion of the, Derby della capitale.

It was a tough week for the top ten spots, but there are always players who rise above the rest.

Here are the this week’s top ten players.

10. Luis Muriel (Lecce) – He had a threatening shot that went wide early in the match, but made up for it later as he scored an equalizer to help Lecce get back into the game.

9. Giuseppe Sculli (Genoa) – He scored the first goal with a nice back heel. He refused to give up as he scored his second goal from a corner in the 86th minute to help Genoa with the draw.

8. Luigi Giorgi (Siena) – Helped his team pull further away from the relegation zone with two assists and a win over Cagliari.

7. Matija Nastasic (Fiorentina) – It is always great to see a defender who can score and put in a good performance in the back.

6. Diego Forlan (Inter) – The team was looking down the barrel of another loss, until Diego Forlan’s goal that gave the team the momentum to come back and earn a point.

5. Stefano Sorrentino (Chievo) – Where would the Flying Donkeys be with out their number one keeper? The Juventus attack could not get past him as he blocked shot after shot on goal to keep his team in the game.

4. Sergio Almiron (Catania) – He controlled the midfield and was at the heart of Catania’s attack. He teamed up well with Gonzalo Bergessio to break down Inter’s defense.

3. Ezequiel Lavezzi (Napoli) – He is having a fantastic run of form lately, and made sure that Napoli walked away with all three points with the game winning goal.

2. Stefano Mauri (Lazio) – The derby was nothing short of dramatic. It takes a certain kind of player to stand firm in such a heated match. Stefano Mauri stretched far to reach the free kick laid in by Cristian Ledesma that gave Lazio all three points.

1. Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Milan) – He returned like a phoenix from the ashes to score a hat trick in the first half against Palermo. With the win Milan are making it difficult for Juventus who can’t afford to lose a match at this point in the season.
