Serie A 2011/2012: Top Ten Players for Week 29

It was a rough week in Serie A in which fans saw a lot of drawn matches played out.

Only four games had winners this week, and two of those games were crucial in the Scudetto race.

So let’s take a look at the players who made it happen with this week’s top ten.

10. Juan Manuel Vargas (Fiorentina) – Fiorentina looked to be stronger side against Genoa. Vargas had a great work rate on the side and grabbed an assist.

9. Rodrigo Palacio (Genoa) – Refusing to give up, he helped his team earn a point with a late goal.

8. Mobito Diakite (Lazio) – Scored with two minutes left in the match to keep Champions League dreams alive for Lazio.

7. Manolo Gabbiadini (Atalanta) – He put in a top performance for the club, and put away a goal to help with the win.

6. Fabrizio Miccoli (Palermo) – The team has fallen on hard times, but Miccoli proved he still has it by putting away a goal from a free kick.

5. Cristian Llama (Catania) – They have been the dark horse of the season. Llama helped the team come back late in the game to get the draw with two assists.

4. Stephan El Shaarawy (Milan) – He caused all kinds of trouble for the Roma defense. He controlled the ball well after several long passes and put in a great effort in a match that came down to the wire for Milan.

3. Andrea Pirlo (Juventus) – He controlled the passing game for Juventus, and his well placed corner lead to the first goal to keep up their Scudetto hopes.

2. Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Milan) – He was the key to Milan’s victory. Putting away a penalty kick and then chipping Maarten Stekelenburg and heading the ball for the game winning goal.

1. Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus) – Although he did not have much to do in the second half, his first half performance was flawless. He made some match winning saves against Inter to keep them firmly in the game for the second half.
