AC Milan want Liverpool midfielder but only for €3 million
Liverpool-owned midfielder Alberto Aquilani’s future is still in doubt after he failed to make the number of appearances required to trigger a permanent move to AC Milan.
If the Italian matched the required number, the Rossoneri would have been forced to purchase the player permanently for €6 million plus an additional €1 million if the club made it into the Champions League. Also, if Milan had retained the scudetto the cost would have risen an additional €2 million.
Aquilani’s agent Franco Zavaglia is scheduled to meet with Milan CEO Adriano Galliani within the next couple of days to potentially negotiate a permanent transfer worth €3 million.
Another factor in the Rossoneri’s reluctance to purchase the player, is the Roman’s wages. He is currently earning €4 million per year and if Aquilani wants to remain at Milan he may have to reduce his wages down to €2 million per year.
If those conditions are accepted, then it would be up to Liverpool to approve. If not, then Aquilani would return to Merseyside where his future is uncertain.
