Luis Enrique may be set to resign as Roma coach with an official announcement could be out next week, meanwhile, fresh reports suggest that Vincenzo Montella is favorite to replace the Spaniard, as negotiations has started.

Roma director Franco Baldini has supposedly met the Catania coach and has approached him two-year contract, and developments could be out in the coming days, claims Calciomercato.it.

Montella was replaced by the former Barcelona B coach earlier this season, but failed to qualify in Europe after a below-par campaign and disappointing results.

On the other-side, Montella has impressed onlookers with his successful first full campaign with Catania and attracted interest of several big clubs.

The Sicilian club, meanwhile, wants the former Roma striker to respect his contract that finishes in June 2013.
