The theme to Italy’s build up to Euro 2012 appears to be centred around telling Mario Balotelli to behave. Anyone you ask about the striker will say ‘he could be world class, but only if he remains focused’.

Those over at betting bonus can see why of course. Balotelli has had his moments with regards to negative headlines and anything like that this summer would disrupt Italy’s chances.

The latest person to tell the Manchester City striker what to do is team-mate Thiago Motta. He believes that if Balotelli works for the team, the Italians can have a successful time in Poland and Ukraine.

The Italian said: “We need Balotelli to work for the team, and to show responsibility. Only like that can he make the difference, and I’m sure he will.”

“He must help us, especially on the pitch because, off it, he can be the same as always. Balotelli makes me just as angry now with his jokes as he did when he was at Inter. But away from the pitch he is a good lad.”

Does anyone else think that Balotelli is a man you are better off just not speaking about? All of this attention and advice telling him to behave, it really could back fire. The more people talk about him, the more likely he is to do something disruptive.

Anyone using a back lay calculator this summer should agree that his ability still needs to be proved too. He clearly has talent, but at 21-years-old, can he turn it on during Euro 2012? Can he outweigh the negative headlines and disruptive influence with goals, assists and general positive play.

Can he do it? Euro 2012 is hisstage to convince everyone that he can. Don’t let us down Mario.
