Punishments handed out in round one of Calcio Scommesse trials

The initial round of sporting trials have gotten underway in Italy with the verdicts being handed out by the authorities.

The trials are part of the Calcio Scommesse investigation which has been ongoing for more than a year.

In Serie A, Atalanta accepted a plea bargain and were handed a two-point deduction and a €25,000 fine.

Promoted Pescara start with a two-point deficit, and Siena were given a €50,000 fine.

While in Serie B, Grosseto were deducted a six-point and received a €40,000 fine.

Ascoli were penalised with a one-point deduction in addition to a €20,000 fine.

Modena were given a two-point penalty with Livorno receiving a €15,000 fine.

Sampdoria were fined €50,000.

Relegated Novara have received a €50,000 fine, a potential six-point deduction and possible exclusion from the Coppa Italia next season.

Finally in Lega Pro, AlbinoLeffe received a €90,000 fine plus a 27-point penalty.

Cremonese have a one point deduction as well as a €30,000 fine, and Frosinone given a one point deduction

In addition, Kewullay Conteh, Alex Pederzoli, Francesco Ruopolo, Antonio Narciso, Dario Passoni, Mirco Poloni, Juri Tamburini, Andrea De Falco, Alfonso De Lucia and Gianfranco Parlato all received bans from football ranging from two to 20 months.
