Alberto Gilardino could soon become a Nerazzurri player after Giampaolo Pazzini was told he is surplus to requirements at the Stadio Meazza. Coach Andrea Stramaccioni needs cover for Diego Milito and the former Italy forward could just be the man to plug that gap.  The ex- AC Milan player failed to settle at his new club and a move to Inter might be the fresh start he is hoping for.

Although Genoa are not actively looking to offload their striker, it is understood they would not stand in his way if he decided on a return to the San Siro.
