Today’s highlights…

The transfer saga surrounding Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic and their moves to Paris Saint Germain is almost at an end.

It was announced that the Brazilian is now a PSG player and Ibrahimovic is set to be confirmed as one early this week although no agreement has been reached as yet.

Having now prised that pair, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Salvatore Sirigu and Thiago Motta from Serie A, one player the French side will not be getting their hands on is Arturo Vidal after the Italian champions refused a bid for the midfield maestro.

Gianluigi Buffon is already a Juventus legend, but if you needed further proof of it, he could be set to sign a new contract with the Bianconeri until 2015 which will see him take a €2m pay cut.

Having last week been linked with a bizarre move for Real Madrid midfielder Kaka, Napoli have now set their sights on more relaistic targets as they aim to sign Sampdoria’s Andrea Poli from under the nose of Inter.

The Blucerchiati are believed to have identified Palermo’s Giulio Migliaccio as their prime target to replace Poli and are also set to sign Fiorentina full back Lorenzo De Silvestre.

The Tuscan outfit are themselves looking to strengthen by bringing in Udinese’s Juan Cuadrado who shot to fame following his sensational goal against Siena for Lecce last season.

However, their bid of just under €6m for Corinthians midfielder Ralf has been turned down by the Brazilian side.

Inter’s stars are attracting attention from elsewhere themselves though as Douglas Maicon is wanted by former boss Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid while Julio Cesar is on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur and Giampaolo Pazzini is the subject of German advances with Werder Bremen readying a bid for the Italian striker.

Alberto Gilardino and Andreas Granqvist could be the latest Serie A stars to head to Russia with Zenit St Petersburg interested in the Swede and Lokomotiv Moscow wanting the former Parma hotshot.

Roma have been the subject of rumours regarding players arriving and leaving almost every day but they have finally completed the signing of American international Michael Bradley from Chievo Verona.

They are also looking to strengthen defensively after the sale of Juan and are looking to Brazil to do so in the form of Sao Paolo’s Ivan Piris.

However, midfielder Leandro Greco could be on his way out of the club as Olympiakos are interested in the player.

Parma have also released Fernando Marques after two years at the Gialloblu, one of the reasons given was for his poor discipline.

Following the sale of Jean Francois Gillet to Torino, Bologna are set to replace him in goal with Roma ‘keeper Gianluca Curci.
