Today’s highlights…

The transfers of arguably Milan’s two best players is on the cusp of being completed after the Italian giants accepted Paris Saint Germain’s €74m bid for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva.

The bid breaks down to €40m for the Brazilian and €25m for Serie A’s top scorer last season plus €9m in bonuses.

Both players are set to undergo medicals later today and could possibly be confirmed as PSG players before the end of the day although the deal for Silva is not as close to completion as that for his teammate.

‘Ibra’ is set to sign a three year deal worth €13m per year while Silva will pen a four year contract worth €7.5m each year with an extra €1.5m in bonuses.

The Rossoneri’s prime target to replace Ibrahimovic is Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez with Adriano Galliani reportedly lining up a €28m bid for the Argentinean and offer him a salary of €5m each season.

Lined up to replace Silva (and Alessandro Nesta too) are Angelo Ogbonna, Rolando and Davide Astori of Torino, Porto and Cagliari respectively.

Fabio Borini of Roma also looks to join the Milan duo by leaving the peninsula after the Giallorossi and Liverpool agreed a fee and the player is now en route to Merseyside to discuss personal terms.

However, they already have their replacement lined up as they look set to beat all the other big boys to the signature of one of the big targets of this transfer window, Mattia Destro.

Inter continue to keep tabs on Lucas Moura as the protracted saga rumbles on but could be set to swoop for Barcelona’s Ibrahim Affelay who his agent has offered to the Nerazzurri for €6m.

At the moment  it also seems that the club are keen to hold on to Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder despite the interests of Anzi Makhachkala.

Udinese have completed the signing of Brazilian midfielder Reginaldo de Matos Maicosuel on a five year deal for an undisclosed fee and is nicknamed ‘Magician.’

Juventus are keen to offload midfielder Michele Pazienza with rivals Fiorentina and Torino interested while the Bianconeri also look set to pip Milan to the signing of Brescia’s talented trequartista Omar El Kaddouri after the clubs have opened talks over the player.

Juve winger Marcelo Estigarribia also looks set to follow the same path as David Trezeguet as rumours mount that River Plate are favourites to sign the player.

Across the city, Torino have been busy themselves after they wrapped up the signing of Napoli’s wantaway midfielder Mario Alberto Santana who had fallen out of favour at the San Paolo and have also today completed the signing of Siena midfield man Alessandro Gazzi.

They did not stop there though and the Granata have also secured the signing of Sassulo striker Gianluca Sansone who enjoyed a terrific campaign last season on a co-ownership deal.

Genoa have also completed their move for Cagliari defender Michele Canini to bolster their back line.

Serie A new boys Pescara have signed Birkir Bjarnason from Standard Liege and have included Marco Verratti in their pre-season squad to ward off interest from PSG.

Atalanta now face competition from England in their bid to sign veteran striker Pippo Inzaghi with Watford now rumoured to be interested in the player.

David Di Michele will also be back in Serie A next year after signing for Chievo Verona from Lecce who have replaced the player by re-signing Javier Chevanton.
