ESPN add Coppa Italia to growing selection of live football

ESPN are pleased to announce that following our recent announcement that Serie A will be shown for another season, the Italian domestic competition the Coppa Italia will be on UK television as well.

The competition pits teams from Lega Pro and Serie D right up to Serie A giants Juventus, Milan, Inter and current holders Napoli in an eight round, knockout competition.* Each tie is decided by one match, apart from the semi-final, which is played over two legs. The winner receives a place in next seasons Europa League, as well as the TIM Cup and a ceremonial “tricolore” which will appear on the shirts of the winning team during the 2013/14 season.

ESPN will also be televising a plethora of football including the Barclays Premier League, Dutch Eredivise, Clysdale Bank Premier League, Russian Premier League, MLS, FA Cup, FA Women’s Super League and Europa League.

In addition, ESPN have also secured the rights to show France’s Ligue 1 which will appear on UK television for the very first time. Stars such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva, Equeziel Lavezzi have joined favourites Paris Saint Germain, but they face competition from the likes of Marseille, Olympique Lyonnais as well as last year’s champions Montpellier in one of the world’s most exciting leagues.  Ligue 1 will join Germany’s Bundesliga and Serie A as some of the best football around Europe, only shown on ESPN.

ESPN will also be showing a host of international fixtures and ten of Scottish giants Rangers games in the Irn-Bru Scottish Third Division.

To keep you updated with all that’s going on in the world of football, ESPN will be giving up-to-date news and expert analysis in a multi-platform, multi-lingual and multi-country service. The website ESPN.co.uk will feature breaking news and features online, as well as new brand ESPN FC which will provide fans with the opportunity to stay up to date whether they are at home, or on the move.

ESPN FC includes the mobile app that will act as fans go to device for all the latest news and views in football, whilst ESPN FC’s TV  panel show “Press Pass” allows ESPN to cover all platforms on the world of football. Wherever you are, you’ll never miss a kick.
