Inter are still in the hunt for another striker to help out Diego Milito and their search has led them to Genoa’s Alberto Gilardino.

The Nerrazzuri are looking for a low cost option with Julio Cesar and Douglas Maicon both yet to depart meaning funds are limited.

They have decided against Roma striker Marco Borriello who was linked with them last week and could now move for the World Cup winner this week.

It could be a busy final few days for the club who could move for Marco Andreolli of Chievo if Juan Jesus departs on loan and have also emerged as surprise contenders in the race to sign Manchester United’s Dimitar Berbatov.
