Today’s highlights…

Yesterday, Roma striker Pablo Osvaldo was linked with a move to Inter but today is now being mentioned as a striking option for Juventus.

The Giallorossi are unlikely to want to sell the striker but having brought in Federico Balzaretti from Palermo for €4.5m, it is understood Jose Angel will be allowed to leave while Aleandro Rosi could also be closing in on his move to Parma.

The left back looks set to join Benfica whose star striker Oscar Cardozo is also being talked about along with Osvaldo as being on a Juventus’ striking shortlist.

Roma have already plundered Brazil to bring in defenders Dodo and Ivan Piris and could return to South America to re-ignite their interest in Bruno Uvini who has been linked with the club all summer.

Although should they fail to bring Uvini to Rome, they will attempt to sign Rhodolfo or young Gremio defender Saimon.

With Napoli having missed out on the aforementioned Balzaretti to Roma, they have now set their sights on bringing in former Juventus defender Reto Ziegler who looked close to a Benfica switch last week.

Reports from Turkey are today suggesting that the agent of Milos Krasic is in Istanbul to hold talks with Fenerbahce.

It seemed as though Tottenham Hotspur had lined up Inter’s Julio Cesar as their number one target in terms of bringing in a new goalkeeper but have instead turned their attention to another Serie A star in Roma netminder Maarten Stekelenburg.

Lazio will have to fight off interest from Paris Saint Germain (the continued thorn in the side of Serie A clubs) if they are to bring in River Plate striker Rogelio Funes Mori who they hope to sign for a fee of €7m.

Didac Vila’s transfer from Milan to Valencia is now in jeopardy and has been put on stand-by after he failed his medicals.

Fiorentina yesterday swooped to sign Borja Valero on a five-year deal and look set to raid the Liga Adelante outfit for Argentine centre back Gonzalo Javier Rodriguez.

The Viola have also joined the race to sign Hoffenheim striker Ryan Babel but do face competition from West Bromwich Albion and Trabzonspor.

Udinese are keen on replacing Samir Handanovic as quickly as possible and have now identified Marco Storari as the man they want between the posts at the Friuli next season.

The departure of Palermo’s Edgar Alvarez has been confirmed today as the Honduran brings an end to a disappointing spell at the Renzo Barbera by joining Dinamo Bucharest.

Tommaso Berni is set to return to the peninsula from Sporting Braga and will jump at the opportunity to join Sampdoria should they put the offer on the table.

Finally, Chievo hope to offer Gennaro Sardo a new deal with the club but before they do so, Atalanta would like to bring the player to Bergamo.
