Today’s highlights…

Juventus remain persistent in their pursuit of Fernando Llorente and have upped their bid for the Spanish striker to €18m while he has been left out of Athletic Bilbao’s match day squads with an exit appearing imminent.

With Stephan Lichtsteiner admitting his interest in a potential move to PSG, it is believed the Bianconeri will move to replace him with Inter defender Douglas Maicon.

Roma’s resolve was tested yesterday for the third time this summer regarding the future of Daniele De Rossi when Manchester City submitted a €40m offer but neither the Giallorossi nor the player want the deal to go through.

The Premier League winners also had an offer rebuffed today for Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic though it is unclear how much the fee involved was.

Over the past few days, Milan have been linked with a number of surprising swap deals with the latest being a double deal with Genoa that will see Djamel Mesbah and Stephan El Shaarawy move to the Marassi while Juraj Kucka and Daniel Tozser will go the other way.

Inter have again entered the race to sign Arsenal’s Theo Walcott after it emerged that the winger was refusing to sign a new contract with the Gunners.

Bundesliga outfit Hamburg have set their sights on signing three Serie A stars and while they have already made a move for Vincenzo Iaquinta, they are now looking into the possibility of taking Cristobal Jorquera and Walter Gargano to Germany.

Bologna have set measures in place to ward Southampton and other potential suitors away from Gaston Ramirez by ensuring that should he leave they will receive no less than €15m for the Uruguayan.

The Rossoblu are also hopeful of bringing either Sergio Floccari or Hajduk Split striker Ante Vukusic who impressed against Inter in the Europa League.

Siena are also hoping to strengthen their attack by signing Manchester City’s John Guidetti who is interested in a switch to the peninsula.

Alexis Rolin’s potential move to Serie A has fallen through however when Catania refused to pay Nacional Montevideo’s €5m asking price.

The Sicilians, who had been hoping to sign Eduardo Vargas this week, now face real competition for his signature after Genoa expressed their concrete interest in taking the Napoli man.
