Today’s highlights…

Juventus’ hunt for a striker has finally come to an end with the club on the brink of confirming Dimitar Berbatov as a Bianconero.

The Bulgarian was originally set to sign with Fiorentina who were awaiting his arrival at the airport before the Old Lady swooped to offer him a two year deal believed to be worth roughly €2m per year after paying Manchester United a €5m fee.

Michele Pazienza is on his way out of the club to join Bologna while free agent Rubinho has been snapped up by the club to add depth to their squad.

AC Milan have completed the signing of Bojan Krkic on a one year loan deal from Roma and are also closing in on Nigel De Jong.

One player moving in the opposite direction though is Fiorentina’s Matija Nastasic who today left the Viola’s training session and headed for England to open talks with Manchester City.

Julio Cesar’s time at Inter is also at an end after his contract was terminated and he now looks set to sign with Queens Park Rangers and the latest striker to be touted with a move to the Nerrazzuri is Tommaso Rocchi.

Manchester City are also still very much in the hunt for Douglas Maicon but Inter hope the longer the deal takes, the more chance there is that he could stay.

Bruno Uvini has been a defensive target for Roma for the majority of the summer and he is now on the verge of a Serie A switch – by joining Napoli who still hope to clinch the signing of Giandomenico Mesto.

Atalnta striker Simone Tiribocchi is on the verge of leaving the club too after La Dea agreed to the sale of the player to Pro Vercelli.

Tottenham Hotspur and Celtic are the latest clubs to have emerged as being interested in securing the signing of Alessandro Del Piero.

Francelino Matuzalem could be on his way out of the capital by returning to former club Shakhtar Donetsk who are interested.

Bologna are not content only with the signing of Pazienza though and also hope to add Simone Missiroli of Sassuolo and Fernando Tissone who plays for Sampdoria.

Torino and Genoa are also in talks over the possibility of the Granata taking Valter Birsa on a permanent deal before the transfer window shuts.

Finally, both of the aforementioned clubs are set to battle it out in an attempt to sign Palermo midfielder Massimo Donati.
