Name: Stadio Olimpico di Torino

Location: Santa Rita, Turin.

Built: 1933

Capacity: 28,140

Initially constructed in 1933, the Stadio Olimpico di Torino has seen many a team and event through the years, although it is now the home of only one of Turin’s football teams, Torino.

Originally named after Benito Mussolini, the Olimpico hosted several matches of the 1934 FIFA World Cup and was the site of the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2006 Winter Olympics.

It housed Juventus from its opening in 1933 to 1990, and Torino from 1958 to 1990. But, while after a brief return from 2006 to 2011 Juventus are no longer playing their football in the venue, their neighbours Torino returned in 2006, and will be playing Serie A games there from 2012.
