AC Milan forward Robinho stirred up a bit of controversy with his refusal to join in the team’s salute to the travelling fans after the Rossoneri’s 1-1 draw against Parma on Saturday evening.

Daniele Bonera has cleared up the misunderstanding, and explained why Robinho went straight into the dressing room after the game.

“I’m amazed that there is already so much controversy over this,” he told Milan Channel.  “Robinho was a little on edge after the game, and he just went straight into the dressing room.  There was nothing else.  There was never a dispute.”

The defender also spoke about the disappointing finish to a game they felt they should have won.  “We played a very good game today, but we just didn’t finish.  We had some ups and downs, but it was a good showing of the positive direction we are moving in, especially for the [Champions League] match against Zenit St Petersburg, and the derby.”

This Wednesday AC Milan will take on Zenit St Petersburg in the Champions League.  It will be an important match for a team who are in the midst of a turbulent start to the Serie A season.
