Juventus centre-back Andrea Barzagli spoke about the momentum Juventus have carried over from last season, and how it has helped them so far this year.  He also spoke about the chances of winning another Scudetto.

Barzagli played a solid game in the Bianconeri’s 4-1 triumph over Roma.  He defended hard, and made a rare attacking run down the outside to set up Sebastian Giovinco’s last minute goal.

“We played a great game today, and we are very happy,” he said.  “We were a little worried knowing the quality of Roma.”

“In the second half, we could’ve managed the game better.  However, in the end, we did very well.”

Speaking about his pass to Giovinco, the defeneder said, “I had a last little burst of energy, and I was happy to have seen Seba [Giovinco].”

He also spoke about the Bianconeri’s domination over most of the 90 minutes.  “We are very good physically.  We played a strong first half, and we demonstrated that we are the kind of team to play at a high pace, and give every opponent difficulty.”

Juventus are now back at the top of the table, and if Napoli do not manage a win on Sunday against Sampdoria, the Bianconeri will remain there alone.  They have extended their unbeaten streak in the league to 45 games.

Barzagli was asked about another Scudetto for the Old Lady,  “We have strengthened ourselves, and we are more convinced with respect to last season.  We do know, however, that the Serie A is very difficult, and there is still a long way to go.  We are also playing in the Champions League, so we are only thinking about continuing along this road.”
