Zamparini was quick to sack Giuseppe Sannino, who was appointed in June, after just three games this season.
The decision was made after Palermo’s dismal start, earning just one point in their first three games, and disappointedly even tied for having the worst goal difference in Serie A with -6.
Gasperini experienced a very similar situation than his predecessor at Palermo faced, his short stint with Inter lasted only five games, which included four defeats.
Gasperini went on to say at the press conference that, “I want to start a cycle here. I’m fired up and I can’t wait to get back to work. I have the backing of the sporting director and the President.”
The tactician who likes to operate with a more offensive 3-4-3 formation, is looking to shake things at Palermo, who were playing in a 4-4-2, which appeared stale and a poor fit for the Sicilian side.
