Parma manager Roberto Donadoni feels that his side could have pulled out a victory against AC Milan Saturday evening if they had a little more belief.  The coach was happy with the way his squad played, and said that they deserved to win.

Parma fought hard throughout the match, and managed to score the tying goal in the 66 minute to secure a point.

“I am happy with the result, the goal and the comeback,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“Perhaps with a little more conviction, it was a game that we could have won, but the result we achieved is important.  They [Parma] played a complete game, they were great.  They deserved it.”

Donadoni was also asked about the situation at AC Milan, and under fire boss Massimiliano Allegri.  “It is clear that they know about these things.  It would make more sense to stop talking about it, to do their work and develop.  These decisions require a certain amount of poise.  In the past two years Allegri won the Scudetto, and finished in second.”

Donadoni had been linked as a potential replacement for Allegri, but he has confirmed his commitment to Parma.  Parma’s president, Tommaso Ghiardi, and the team’s sporting director, Pietro Leonardi, made comments this past week regarding the closing in on a contract renewal for Donadoni.

“It gives me great pleasure that the president and the director expressed this,” the manager said.  “There is a harmony here.  It is a great environment to work in, and I cannot wait to renew.  The harmony allows you to work calmly, and I am confident that I can handle the future with this club.”
