Edoardo Garrone, Sampdoria president and son of former boss Riccardo, is trying to keep his side’s feet on the ground despite their phenomenal start.

The Blucerchiati have won each of their games since returning to the top tier and currently sit in fourth despite a solitary point deduction.

“This club has a glorious history even although a lot of the players in the squad who are playing in Serie A for the first time,” said Garrone. “It is a large group but one who have a great desire to do well under Ciro Ferrara.

“However, we must keep our feet on the ground and always look back even after three wins in three games.”

Although they finished sixth in Serie B last year, they have stunned AC Milan, Siena and Pescara so far this campaign on their winning run.
