The agent of highly regarded Dinamo Zagreb defender Sime Vrsaljko has revealed that Inter are hoping to sign the player although Manchester City remain favourites to secure his signature.
The 20-year-old right back would be the ideal replacement for the departed Douglas Maicon who left for City during the summer.
Agent Nikky Vuksan said: “He is a good modern defender who is strong defensively but also good going forward and is very reminiscent of Shakhtar Donetsk captain Dario Srna.
“It is true Inter are interested in the boy although I will admit they have not yet made official contact and Manchester City have taken the most decisive steps. Inter do know my number and if they want him should contact Dynamo.”
His contract with the Croatian club does not expire until 2017 though with the club intent on holding on to one of their hottest prospects for as long as possible.
