Juventus president Andrea Agnelli has defending the ticket pricing and attendance for the Champions League match against Shakhtar Donetsk.

With an attendance of around 30,000 fans turning out for the Juventus Stadium’s debut in the competition, many have blame the increase in prices for the poor showing.

“There has been some criticism about prices, but the problems are varied,” Agnelli told Sky Sport Italia.

“The prices were in line with those adopted for games given a second tier status, without any increases.

“I believe that the fact we got 30,000 supporters was a positive seeing as 10,000 wouldn’t have come at our old Stadio Delle Alpi.

“This confirms how welcoming our new arena is, how it encourages fans to come to the stadium.”

The capacity of the Juventus Stadium is 41,000 and most weekends in Serie A it is close to capacity.
