Ahead of Italy’s World Cup qualifying match this Friday against Armenia, recent national team call-up Antonio Candreva thanked Lazio staff and fans for their support.

Candreva was called up by manager Cesare Prandelli, joining midfielders Daniele De Rossi, Alessandro Diamanti, Emanuele Giaccherini, Claudio Marchisio, Riccardo Montolivo, Andrea Pirlo, and Marco Verratti.

“This call-up is a reward for all the hard work I’ve been doing with the squad and the technical staff,” he said.

“Thanks to everyone, including the fans for all the support they have given me, and will give me in the future.”

“I hope I can bring my best to the azzurri in the next game, and the World Cup.”

Candreva has scored one goal this season in a 3-0 defeat over Palermo on September 2nd.  The midfielder has only been capped two times by the senior national team.
