Torino manager Giampiero Ventura has made it clear that his squad must be mindful of their responsibilities on the pitch ahead of their meeting with Cagliari this Sunday.

In the past week il Toro have received lots of praise because of their impressive 5-1 victory over Atalanta, but Ventura discussed the importance of remaining clam and taking care of business this weekend against Cagliari.

“In the past week we have received a lot of praise, but that is not what will help us grow,” he said.

“We must not be too euphoric, we must be aware.  Survival remains our objective.”

Ventura is focusing on not allowing his team to lose their intensity on the back of an excellent performance.

“During the week we analyzed what we did well in the first half, and what things we could do better.  We will not become vulnerable because of victory or defeat.  We are moving ahead with a project, and we have a group of players that want to succeed and show the willingness to do so.”

“This match will be very important for us because it is the first time we don’t have a clear idea of how they will play tactically.”

Torino find themselves in the 10th spot in the table, having been promoted back up to Serie A for this season.
