Juventus’ path towards the last 16 of the Champions League is getting complicated after three draws in their first three games in the competiton, however history suggests all is not bad.

The Old Lady are currently third in Group E with three points collected from 1-1 draws with Nordsjaelland and Shakhtar Donetsk and 2-2 draw with Chelsea.

According to previous experience, this trend is not all disadvantageous for the Turin based club.

In 1998-99 season, Juventus even drew their first five games against Galatasaray and Athletic Bilbao on both meetings and against Rosenborg at the Lerkendal Stadium.

They went through to the next phase by beating Rosenborg in the last game at the Stadio Delle Alpi thanks to Filippo Inzaghi and Nicola Amoruso’s goals.

Moreover, in 2009-10 season, Inter even proved that they could win the competition with the same situation: three draws in their first three games.

In a group containing Barcelona, Rubin Kazan and Dynamo Kiev, Inter finally grabbed their first three points in match-day 4 against Dynamo Kiev in the Lobanovsky Dynamo Stadium, Kiev.

They even complicated their chances after losing 2-0 to Barcelona in Camp Nou, however they managed to win the last game against Rubin Kazan at the San Siro and the rest was history.
