Malaga’s match winner Joaquin Sanchez has said that it was a difficult game and claimed that Malaga were the better side last night.

Despite missing a penalty in the first half, Joaquin went to score on the second half to keep Malaga’s perfect record in the Champions League with nine points from three games, topping Group C.

“It was a tough game,” the winger stated in a post match interview. “But we were much the better team, we went for the win from the start.

“The team gave everything, we delivered for our fans.”

Last night was the second time in a row Joaquin missed a spot kick after he failed to convert one last Saturday October 20 against Valladolid.

Joaquin does not expect to be selected as Malaga’s first choice to hit a penalty again after these misses.

“If the Coach picks me I’ll hit one again, but having failed twice…I don’t think there will be a third time.

“In the summer we woke up with uncertainty every morning, and look now, we are a force of constant commitment and improvement. This team deserves it.”
