Sampdoria striker Maxi Lopez is urging his teammates and fans to remain grounded in view of their impressive start to the Serie A season.

The Blucerchiati are currently fifth in the table with three wins, two draws, and one defeat.

“Survival is our main objective,” he told Sky Sport.  “However, we have already shown that we can go beyond this particular aim.”

The former Catania and AC Milan man also spoke about the comments from club president Riccardo Garrone who said Lopez can be better than former Sampdoria striker Giampaolo Pazzini.

“I accept the challenge that the president has given me,” Lopez said.  “Our spot in the table is a good starting point to be able to achieve it.”

Lopez leads his team with three goals in four starts.  They will take to the pitch this Saturday against Chievo.
