Paris St Germain manager Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that his club are interested in Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi.

De Rossi was left out of Roma’s last fixture before the international break, while he scored a goal in Italy’s 3-1 win over Armenia on Friday night.

Roberto Mancini’s Manchester City made an offer for the midfielder in the summer, but he turned it down.  Now, PSG’s Ancelotti has made his voice heard on the 29-year-old.

“De Rossi is an excellent player,” he said on Radio Monte Carlo.

“It surprised me that he didn’t play in Roma’s last game, but I believe that it was a decision made in the moment.

“We’re talking about a great midfielder; therefore, it is normal that he is being approached by PSG.

“There is always talk about us because we are one of the few team’s that can spend big money.

“But for now the market is closed, and the next time we can talk about him will be in January.”

De Rossi opted to remain at Roma after Manchester City’s bid this summer, making a statement that he had never wanted to go on the market.
