Udinese came back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 against Roma in Serie A on Sunday evening at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Giallorossi raced into a 2-0 goal lead thanks to goals from Erik Lamela, who got both, but Udinese hit back with goals from Maurizio Domizzi and two from Antonio Di Natale.

The home side started the stronger and the fluent attacking football came into play as a Pablo Osvaldo header was brilliantly denied by Zeljko Brkic.

Then Lamela wasted three chances, one an angled drive, a second was a free header at the back post, which was headed wide, and the third was a low drive which was parried away by Brkic.

Roma took the lead after 22 minutes when Lamela scored from the tightest of angles, then just two minutes later, Roma doubled the lead when Francesco Totti played in Osvaldo who crossed for Lamela who headed into an empty net.

The lead did not last too long as Udinese hit back just after the half hour mark as Roma failed to clear a free kick and Domizzi made no mistake with a low drive.

The Zebrette came back stronger and went close to equalising when Di Natale had his effort blocked by the Roma defence.

Udinese then equalised four minutes into the second half as Di Natale turned home Pablo Armero’s cross.

Zeman’s men tried to find the winner but couldn’t as Osvaldo and Daniele De Rossi missed numerous chances.

But with five minutes remaining Udinese were awarded a spot kick when Leandro Castan tangled with Roberto Pereyra in the penalty area. Di Natale stepped up and chipped the penalty straight down the middle.

It got worse for I Lupi in stoppage time as they were reduced to 10 men when Panagiotis Tachtsidis was sent off for dissent.
