Liverpool have been added to Torino defender Angelo Ogbonna’s long list of admirers, after rumors have suggested the Merseysiders are keen on acquiring his services in the near future.

The 24 year-old centre-back, who has also been linked with crosstown rivals Manchester United and Manchester City in recent times, admits to flattery but also concedes that he is satisfied with his current situation.

“It is flattering to be linked with Liverpool, one of the biggest clubs in the world. It’s very famous,” said Ogbonna to Sky Sports.

“However, my contract with Torino expires in 2016 and I like Torino as a club. But you never know.”

The Italian’s prose seems to suggest openness to such a move, but an unwillingness to suggest its level of possibility.

Ogbonna has been sought by numerous clubs throughout Europe in the past years, and impressed Italy head coach Cesare Prandelli so much in his last season at Torino that the Azzurri boss selected him for the 2012 European Championships despite the Granata having competed in Serie B.

Prandelli has been forced to drop Ogbonna ahead of Italy’s World Cup qualifying clash with Armenia on Friday, however, due to an inflamed prostate gland. A replacement is yet to be named.
